Oliver Smith joined the Protec group of companies – which has over 20 subsidiaries in the field of environmental sciences and decontamination globally, including AMS, PPS and Tersus Consultancy in the UK - as Chief Operations Officer at the start of 2017.
He has held senior roles in the asbestos industry since 2012, and prior to that he worked for KPMG. He has served with both the British Army and the Royal Marines. In the Army, he was the project lead in developing a forward operations tactical SIGINT platform.
Rock wool, silica and RCFs – learning the lessons of asbestos
For decades, asbestos in the UK has been tightly regulated, with legislation developing to increase controls and better manage this hazardous material. Now, similar hazards are being identified – rock wool, silica and refractory ceramic fibres. This seminar will explore what legislators working in this field can and should learn from all areas of the asbestos industry – including training, consultancy, and removal.
